After Russia invaded Ukraine, Israeli photographer Edward Kaprov went to the Donbas, to Kharkiv, Kherson and Bakhmut to cover the conflict. He chose the collodion photographic process, a technique which provided the first war photography, during the Crimean War (1853-1856), to document today’s conflict. The Polka Magazine competition made this reportage possible.
